Unidentified network ethernet help please!

Hello, i have a problem with my local area connection and it seems to be an unidentified network with no internet access. My wifi works completely fine but i really need to use cable because it is much faster. Can anyone help? sorry i have bad english. I have windows 7 ultimate if that helps

Can you do the following?
Plug the cable in
open the command prompt <<to do this press "windows key" + 'r', type "cmd", then press ok.
Then type "ipconfig /all"
copy the results and paste them here.

I am asking you to do this to establish if you are getting an IP address etc.
