Hello everyone. So I've been playing Grand Theft Auto 5 since it came out but one thing I've noticed is how hot my card was running so I turned on HWMONITOR to see the temps and it was running at 80C. My CPU was also at 80-90C. I don't usually check temps so I'm not entirely sure if it does this to all games or just GTA. Everything is up to date in my computer, with the GTA 5 "game ready" drivers from Nvidia as well.

My questions are:

Is it normal for the GTX 780 SC ACX to run at 80C? Am I in the safe zone still?
I also can't run the game on maxed with constant 60FPS, but I see many people running it with same GPU, is my CPU bottlenecking my GPU?
Also, my game is installed on my 1tb not the SSD, do you think moving it over will help with FPS at all? (it shouldn't right? since SSD just makes it load faster).

Here's my computer specs:

Motherboard: EVGA X58 3X-Sli
Memory Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3
Processor: Intel Core i7 930 Quad Core 8MB Cache 2.8GHz
Heatsink: Coolermaster V8
Video Card: GTX 780 SC ACX
Power Supply: Corsair 850W
Monitor: LG 34UM65 2560x1080 (34")
Hard Drive: Samsung SSD 840 250gb + Western D.1tb
Case: HAF-X
OS: Windows 8.1 64Bit

My 780Ti hits 83C when not in SLI; 85C when in SLI, so doesn't sound that unusual. You have a good CPU; don't be fooled by the hype, bloomfield is still more than good enough for today's games. I had an i7 960 with a gtx 780 and it performed identical to my 4770K with a gtx 780. You'd probably need SLI to run GTA 5 at max settings and 60fps. SSD would mostly help with loading, not hitting 60fps.

technically the temps are within safe limits, but if the CPU is reaching the 90C mark, then that's getting a bit warm

what's your airflow setup in the case like?
what is the ambient room temp?
do you overclock at all?
if you stress test the cpu/gpu, what temps do they reach?

The airflow shouldn't be a problem. This is how it is. http://c1.neweggimages.com/BizIntell/item/11/119/11-119-225/hafx_003.jpg
The temp in the room can get a bit hotter, but I usually just open window and cools down so that shouldn't really be a problem either.
I don't have anything overclocked in my computer. Never did it.
Not sure about stress testing since I haven't done that yet.
When I get home, I'll try to clean my heatsink because I think it has dust on it, so that should help keep it bellow 80C hopefully.
