hello i have an amd fx 4130 i bought and im overclocking it because no matter what i do i lag in games. the motherboard is asrock 970 pro r2.0

cpu voltage is at 1.4750 @ 4.7Ghz
north bridge voltage 1.275
max temp 62c
gpu is 7790

im overclocking because this computer plays some games like crap
bf4 is a 20-30 fps game for me
gmod is about 10-20 fps game for me
i dont know what causes lag but games like bf3 i get constant 80fps

Solution
Your temperatures are just hitting the maximum. You may want to try lowering them a bit, somehow.

4.7 ghz with 1.475V is pretty good, otherwise.

What I would download a monitoring program like AIDA64, that allows you to monitor the clockspeeds of your CPU and GPU. Start playing games, or whatever else to put your components under stress, and take a look at what frequency your CPU is running at. There is a chance that your CPU may be throttling.

If your parts are not throttling, then you'll have to try turning down some settlings. The biggest help is turning off any filters - Anti-aliasing is the biggest one.

okay. I ran aida64 for a while and found my temps this time around only hit 54c. it never throttled. I played BF4 which was constant 30 kinda scary it was like it was pegged at 30. and after a good match in a 64 player server it hit 51c. BUT my new biggest worry is the mother board. will it be fine handling this overclock on its 4+1 phase and not having VRM heatsinks ?

ps my power supply is
EVGA 500w 80+
