Does anyone know if the Radeon R9 290x is compatible with a AMD FX8350 8-Core on an ASUS 990FX Sabertooth Motherboard?

I guess I just got a faulty card. It freaked out my motherboard and memory. Also pushing 1kw to power my rig.

If you have the monitor yes it can, though you'll have to dial back settings on some games. AMD version of DSR doesn't work like Nvidia; so if you've got a non-2160p monitor and you're trying to run 4k it won't work; your max res will be 3200x1800 unless you have the R9 285 I think (so weird). For 4K I'd recommend Xfire 290Xs.

Something is terribly wrong if your rig is pulling 1000watts. My 4k rig has 2 290x's but with a 4690k cpu because the 6300 or 8350 will bottleneck crossfire setups. But yes the 290 is 4k capable, it's actually where the card shines and catches up to much more expensive cards.
