Hi guys
I need help here. Today when my computer was idle, artifacts started showing on the screen and the screen blinked and showed display driver stopped responding or something. I immediately assumed that its my GPU cause of the artifacts. However, i did a fresh install on windows 7 64 bit and installed a new driver and the problem still persisted.
The screen again showed BSOD with artifacts and restarted itself. Under safe mode, I uninstalled the drivers and windows booted normally, without a problem. I tried older drivers and I managed to log in to windows. I then ran furmark for 30 min and it was without a problem. I also ran memtestg80 with 700 mbs and 500 iterations, it didnt show an error. I also did 3dmark successfuly and it didnt crash. I thought I fixed the problem, but after awhile, when I was playing Heroes of the Storm, artifacts appeared again. I checked the temperatures on CPU/GPU and they were normal. GPU 30-40, CPU 40-50.
Now i know that if a PSU doesnt supply enough power to the GPU, artifacts can appear on the screen. my PSU is 500 wat but its kinda old, like 4 years old.
Any advice on what to do?

I also like to mentinon, no artifacts are shown under BIOS, safemode, boot time and ETC.

My rig is:
i3 - 4130 3.4ghz
ASUS GTX 560 1gb
8 gb kingston ddr3 (1600 mhz)
HDD toshiba 500gb 7200
msi h81m-p33 as motherboard

Theres no simple way to test the output, there is equipment you can buy to do it, but we can tell you for sure that your PSU was definitely weak when it was new, and your problems are consistent with the GPU not getting enough voltage.

The same thing happens when you overclock a GPU a bit to much and don't bump up the voltage a bit.

Well, after testing and everything, my GPU gave out today and for sure the problem is in the GPU. The PSU works fine for now :), so I will be getting a new GPU :). Thank you for help
