So following this thread found here, i decided to take a swing at over clocking. It didn't seem all that hard and i wanted to push more performance out of my i5, mainly because it's bottle necking my system especially when playing GTA 5. The CPU usage is usually 94%-100% which actually makes this annoying "popping effect" even when running 45 - 60 frames on a gtx 970.

However i followed everything on that thread using those same numbers he used which go as follow:
"1. Set "All Core" CPU Multiplier to 44X
2. Set CPU cache Multiplier also called the Ring bus multiplier to 35
3. Set Fixed CPU Vcore to 1.25 -1.30v
4. Set CPU Cache Voltage also could be called Ring Bus voltage to 1.20v -1.25vv
5. Set Vrin also called "CPU Input Voltage" To 1.9v - 2.1v"

I restarted saved/exited and started up windows which actually ran without error (somewhat excited, being that it didn't crash for my first time), and using realtemp, cpu-z, and Intel Burn test I began the stress test, which was actually running temps of 80-95 (yikes!) so i decided to stop the test to avoid any damaging. Also it seems that he is getting more GFlops than what i'm getting, does this matter? and this is where I'm kinda stuck, should i lower the voltage and multiplier? and if so by how much? Any help would be greatly appreciated especially for someone who's new to this.

Below are some pics from CPU-Z, IntelBurnTest and Realtemp as well as my specs.

P.S.: I did decide to run GTA 5 and it ran temps under 70 for the 10 minutes that i played (around 60C-70C), so i'm not exactly sure if this is relevant but i decided to include it.

Specs:
ASRock Z87 Extreme4
Intel Core i5-4670k @3.4GHZ (OC of 4.4GHZ)
Corsair Vengeance 8 GB DDR3 @ 666MHz
Nvidia GTX 970 w/ 4GB of Vram
Corsair HX750 750W
Hyper 212 Evo

So i should just abandon the whole overclocking thing? i mean... it would've something nice to learn and attempt on my system.

I could upgrade my in case cooling and possibly replace my thermal compound, I also realize that i ran Intel Burn test under 8 threads of which i only have 4. Heh...

If you're going to do it, you are going to have to do it properly. This is not a quick job and it is not a job that should be rushed.

Chances are you will have to make a number of changes to your system such as improved airflow/cable management and stuff you and the other poster mentioned.

I am merely saying don't expect to OC quickly so you can play GTA 5 with more details.

If you want to do it properly then I suggest reading one of the MANY MANY OC guides for intel processors of your gen which can be found on tom's or elsewhere

Should you then require support and have SPECIFIC questions, people can help you here. It is just lazy to ask us to OC your system for you.
