First off I know a slightly similar question has been posed but there were a few differences (32bit OS and much less ram) and it was a long time ago and never really got answered.
So here we go:
About a week ago my computer started blue screening and acting really strangely. Ran memtest and found I had errors in my RAM. No real surprise as I built my machine myself in 2010 and it was bound to happen at some point. I decided to use this as an opportunity to upgrade and update my computer and ordered the exact same RAM but to the max spec of the MoBo which was 16GB 4x4 of G. Skill pc1333 RAM. I also bought a new video card but I've since taken that out to assist with trouble shooting and am only running on onboard video. Since adding the new RAM I've been getting hangs and blue screens similar to what I was getting before so I figured I had a bad stick. I went back down to my original 8 gigs and everything seemed to smooth out. I added the sticks back one by one and voila no hangs or blue screens yet. However, Right clicking my computer and viewing system properties shows that I'm only using 7.75 of a possible 16 gb. RESMON shows the additional RAM as being "System Reserved". I've updated my BIOS to the latest stable version and cleared my CMOS. Still the same problem persists. Any ideas?
