Upgrading processor/graphics card

I was considering upgrading my processor to an i7 and maybe a beefier graphics card in the 4 gigs range. I have a ASUS Gryphon Z87 (Intel Z87 Chipset) mobo. Think it can handle those kinda upgrades?

If you're a gamer and no more, I suggest you rather buy a mid-range i5 and use the rest of the money on a better GPU. You really don't need anything more than an i5 if you're a gamer.
