Hi, I have a Asus X83vb laptop that is running windows 7. Recently it will not sleep or shut down properly. The only way for me to shut it down is to force hold down the power button. If I try to put it to sleep or shut it down the normal method the computer does a BSOD shutdown with a warning about windows detected a problem and is shutting down the computer to prevent damage. I had made some driver updates which may have caused this problem but am not sure. The problem is, when I try do a recovery to a previous restore point it fails bc the computer will not restart properly. I get a BSOD and then a message after stating that the restore process wasn't achieved because
the computer didnt restart properly. I also tried to do restore from safe mode but get the same error. I am at a loss for what to try next. The laptop also does a hard cut off randomly when not plugged into power supply. I replaced the battery with a new one but still having that issue. Could this all be related to a bad driver or incompatible software update?

I have tried a repair install but I get a an error message at the end that says "windows could not update the installation files. To install Windows, Close Setup and restart the installation. Error Code: 0xAA. I have shut down and restarted the repair install process but keep getting the error message. Also, this is the error message I get when I restart my computer after windows does a force shutdown after the computer times out from trying to go to sleep or when I try to shut down normally.
