It makes a very loud RRRRRRRTRRRTRRRTRRR noise or "Grinding" noise on startup, then it goes away after 1 or 2 minutes and continues normally, even when the noise is happening it works normal and there's no freezes or anything, atleast non that I could spot.

And it doesn't do it every time, it only does it when it was off for more than 3-4 hours, and its quite cold in my room. I shut it down after the sound stopped and turned it back on and the noise didn't happen, it even sometimes doesn't happen on cold startups, only sometimes, its really random.

I opened the case rushing to figure out where the sound came from and I couldn't really tell, it felt that it was either the big front case fan or the HDD, but I touched the HDD and it wasn't vibrating very much at all.

maybe it could also be the DVD drive? not sure please help me, is this normal? it happened a few times already in the past 2 weeks, but not as strong as this time.

I have 3 Case fans and I checked all of them there were no wires touching them. also checked GPU's and CPU's fans were all clear.

Can it be because of cold room temperature and it being off for quite a while?

I've tried looking for the front fan wire and couldn't see it, its all covered by the HDD and SSD.. is there a way to check my HDD's health? to be sure that its not dying and I won't lose me data?

Hard drives don't make that much noise. It would be long dead before ever reaching that stage.

It sounds like a bad fan bearing to me as well. They can be a tad tricky to diagnose which one is causing the noise at first because the noise often goes away after the bearing warms up. Nothing wrong with leaving the side panel off of your chassis while you're diagnosing. I usually put my finger on the hub of the fan (no, don't stick your finger in the blades) and slow it down manually to see if it's the fan making the offending noise.

The front case fan is really hard to reach since its blocked by the HDD/SSD holder case

so what should I do? is this really a problem? should I replace it somehow? or should I wait a while and see if it gets worse? summer's coming up, so it might be alot warmer and the noise will possibly stop happening. Also I'll try to blow out the dust from my pc in the near future.

yeah sometimes the front fan is a pain to get to--trace the other fans and cpu fan to see where they plug in to motherboard--then the one thats left is front fan--when noise starts pull out fan connector--if noise stops its that fan

is it really a problem? depends on how the air flow in your case is and what cpu and gpu temperatures are--would they rise much without the front fan connected?

Hmm.. I guess I'll just wait a while and see what happens, I've never really felt comfortable touching anything inside my PC, I'm even scared of disconnecting the fan lol...

whats the worst thing that can happen? the fan will just stop working and I could easily get a replacement, right? it wont damage anything else could it? I always monitor my temps, when playing games and when I turn on my PC, seriously, first thing I do everytime I turn on my PC is launch CoreTemp and GPU-Z, they work in the background 24/7.

assuming its the fan--yeah worst thing it will stop totally

and if you keep an eye on temps then you should be fine--even without a front fan the temps may not rise too seriously depending on the pc case you have--lot of cases have plenty gaps for hot air to escape

Fan bearings can go for a very long time making noises like that. You'll know when it's an issue because you will be tired of the constant racket. If you can live with it for now, so can your PC. Provided it's not the PSU fan or the CPU fan, if it conks out your machine will likely not notice. If your CPU fan went south, you would get overheating and an unstable system, or it may simply turn off on you during usage. The PSU fan could result in the power supply having a firecracker moment, depending on build quality, or it may just power off once and for all, and nothing else until replaced. Hard to say with certainty without knowing more. Usually, high temp devices such as a CPU or even some PSUs can be smelled slightly as they begin to overheat, but it's not a guarantee.

Hope everything will be fine... I only had this PC for like only a year, it costed about 1500 euro's...

Gonna clean it out of dust... maybe there's just a hair stuck in the fans and thats whats making the noise.
