Solution
The ActionTech modem/routers aren't great for that part, you can disable it and just use the new router for wireless.

You can set your new router up as an access point if you want to use it for wireless networking.
The user manual for your new router should tell you how to do this.

Just return the new cable modem you got since you can't use it with Verizon.

You need to see if verizon will activate the ethernet port on the ONT. If you do not buy tv services from them you can use just the ethernet and return the actiontec. If you have the tv service you will need the actiontec to make the setop boxes have internet access via the actiontec using the coax cable.
