I want to know whether i can add DDR3 RAM slots to my acer M1860 H61M-AM Motherboard. This motherboard has pinouts showing that i can addon slots but i want to make sure whether it will be supported. At the moment i have a 4GB and a 2GB installed on my computer but i want to upgrade it to 8GB. If anyone knows how this needs to be done please tell me a step by step guide of how to do it. A quick reply would be most appreciated. Thanks in Advance :D

I don't think anyone can know for a fact if it will work, unless someone has tried it with that exact board. there could be a missing chip or trace or component somewhere on the board that's not obvious. or it could work perfectly fine right off the bat.

no harm in trying, other than getting your hopes up and spending a lot of time with the soldering iron.

you could find out that after you buy the dimm slots, and after you spend time cleaning out the current holes (which are likely plugged with solder from the manufacturing), and after you solder in the new dimm slots, that they're not even working because of some missing chip or something. how bad would that suck? no guarantee that your new slots would actually work.
