So when i start to download a game, i download with 2.1MB/s and thats fine for me. But after 5.10 mins it drops down to 100kb/s and stays there. I can get it up again by disconnecting LAN cable or do a quick restart with my computer. What could be the problem?

Solution
it is now very common for ISPs to aftificially limit your download speeds either:
- Because you consistently download a lot
- or because of the type of traffic (torrents).

They may do this 24/7 or only during peak times.

For example, here in the UK the biggest ISP is BT, if you try and download torrents during peak hours, they will only run at a few KB a second, then they will go full speed off peak. but other traffic will not be capped in this way.

Also customers who download really exessive ammounts like 100s of gigabytes per month, may have speed restrictions put on all traffic.

If you are using torrents, and other traffic is fine, this is probably what is happening to you.

Its usually called traffic shaping.

ok.. so thats about 16 Megabits per second. down to next to nothing?

Who is your ISP and where are you downloading from?

If it is torrents you are using and there are seeders available, you are probably being traffic shaped by your ISP. This is by far the most likely issue.

How fast is your internet connection?

The above is most likely but If you are assuming no throttling is going on....
When you transfer a file the main protocol responsible for the transfer is TCP, TCP will automatically cut the speed right back if it encounters lots of errors. See if you have an option in your router management page which tells you how many errors are occuring on your broadband line.. You will always have some, especially FEC errors. but see if these numbers go up rapidly when you are downloading.

also right click your network connection and check the status, in here you can look for errors between your computer and router, and also check they are connected at the right speed and duplex,

If you are using torrents the tracker may be actively throttling your download speed based on upload speed, try increasing your upload.

Finally, aggain if you are using torrents or anything similar, underpowered routers might become overwhlmed if you have too many active connections going at once, try altering the options for the program regarding the number of active connections allowed.

Whatever dowload method you are using try limiting the speed yourself to 1MB/s and see if you ge the same issue.

Sorry for late respond. I live in Denmark and the Download Location is set to Denmark. We got a 20/2 speed from a company called "Telenor", I'm using a Ehternet cable so there should'nt be too much ping/dops.

There shouldn't be. But have you checked it?

Bad ISPs are bad. Here's what my ISP claims

Dedicated symmetrical fiber, so speeds never go down or change.

We do not block, impair, degrade, delay or otherwise inhibit access by our customers to lawful content, applications, services or non-harmful devices.
We do not prioritize our own content, application, services, or devices, or of our affiliates.

I will get 100% of my speed 100% of the time, if not, they will fix the issue. Since they do not oversubscribe their last mile, the only time I don't get 100% of my speed is when something is broken, and they're already fixing it.

Yea, but. I live in Denmark and theres not really any "Good" Or Decent speed for the price in my opinion. And where we live. We have to pay like 150% more cause the Cable to our house can't handle too much. Right now we have 20/2. And i can use barly 9/0.5 of it. I got nearly 100-200 ping.
