Hi,
I have an A10-5800K APU, and now I'm willing to get a graphics card to get better performance in games.
I thought on getting the nVidia GTX 960.
Now, should I upgrade the CPU aswell? I thought on getting the FX-6300 with a motherboard that supports AM3, but is it really worth getting this upgrade?

Solution
No not worth it. If you stay with the A10-5800K, go with the GTX 960. That is about the max card the APU can run w/o major bottleneck.
If you change platforms, go Intel.

I wouldn't. Moving to FX also means new motherboard because the socket is different, so not exactly a cheap upgrade. If you haven't already I'd spend the money on a good cooler and overclock the A10, should keep up with the GTX 960 just fine.

I would also keep the a10 maybe put the money into a better gpu in the mean time then later you can upgrade your motherboard and CPU but keep your gpu.

With a nice cooler you should be able to overclock your current CPU and gave it run almost any game at very high settings
