I always hear that Intel makes the best CPUs for gaming but AMD has higher clockspeed and more cores. So what makes Intel better?

Solution
Intel CPUs have better single core performance which is required by games. In addition, intel CPUs execute more instructions per clock cycle which makes the frequency irrelevant when comparing between Intel and AMD cpus. Finally The number of cores is not relevant as all cores are not equal e.g.

comparing an 8 core 8350 to a 4 core 4690K:
UserBenchmark: Intel Core i5-4690K vs AMD FX-8350
Effective CPU Speed: 90.8% vs 63.6%
Intel Core i5-4690K - 5th / 825
AMD FX-8350 - 144th / 825

The above comparison shows that double the number of cores on the 8350 only increase mult-threaded throughput (MC Mixed) by 18%.

First of all AMD tends to run hot with their stock coolers, I wouldn't say that "Intel Is Better" but if you have a high budget the I-7's and I-5's beat out most AMD processors. For entry level low budget gaming I would say that "AMD is better". AMD has more cores but they are weaker cores, Intel on the other hand has not as many cores but they are very strong. Like I said earlier for a high budget Intel wins for a low budget AMD all the way. :)

Take a look at this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3dUhep0rBs

It explain why AMD isn't good at games and what they are trying to do to improve it.
keep in mind that they are "TRYING" to improve. so working or not in the future it another question.

off topics stuff.

"""First of all AMD tends to run hot with their stock coolers, I wouldn't say that "Intel Is Better"........."""
just a though. How many of you guys use the stock coolers from Intel anyways. yes AMD does run hot but with the right cooling it can be alright.

if you guys have 10 min free time. take a look at this video. it talks about how much money you can save from energy bills from Intel vs AMD and is it worth it.
