Hi, recently i decided i am going to build my very first PC though lack a bit of understanding on hardware. I am wondering if anyone could help construct a list of parts revolving around the information given below.

location: Australia
budget: $2200-$2300 (includes monitor, mouse and keyboard)

Desired use:
I plan on gaming/recording/streaming on a 1440p monitor with the capability of running games like battlefield 4, Crysis 3 and Far Cry 4 at a descent fps. may plan on overclocking cpu (optional)

requirements:
monitor must be a BenQ GW2765HT (unless convinced otherwise)
mouse i have chosen is Logitech G502
keyboard i have chosen is Gigabyte Force K3
the graphics card must be a gtx 980 (unless convinced otherwise)
and the motherboard must support sli as i plan to get a second gtx 980 in the future (unless convinced otherwise)

The rest is up to you

Thank you for your replies :)

2 GTX 970 costs only $100 more in the US, but quite much stronger.

i changed the parts around a bit pccasegearpartslist
changes made:
change hard drive to 1tb
changed ssd to 128gb
changed motherboard to suggested one

questions i have:
1. what advantage does the case have over a cheaper one such as Aerocool GT Advance Mid Tower Case Black?
2. is this G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-2400C11D-8GXM (2x4GB) DDR3 ram better at same cost but 2400MHz?
3. will the gtx 970 be able to handle 1440p gaming?

The Define R5 is far superior to the Aerocool. Tons of airflow, soundproof, lots of room for HDDs and SSDs, amazing cable management, room for 7 or 8 fans, or alternatively you can put the whole watercooling stuff in it. It has dust filters on the door and underneath, and sound proof material all around the case yet temps are still cool.

It is one of the best, if not the best, PC cases out there. I have the Define R4. I highly recommend the R5.

ok last questions.
is that power supply good enough for 970 SLI?
and other than that everything in this list is compatible?

thank you for the help! :)

Ummm... No. Sure yo get more frames with the 970 sli but single 980 is a much smoother experience, so you saying its destroyed is going a bit too far.
