Is anyone actually running crossfire on the Gigabyte 970A-UD3 or simlilar board that runs x16 and x4 respectively on the PCIe slots.
I am running an R9 270x OC and am thinking of adding a second for around $200. This card is reasonable and runs BF4 on High settings at around 50-60 FPS at 1080p, but just lacks the punch to run it (and similar games) at 60FPS on Ultra.
It's really hard to find articles on x16 x4 benchmarks and am interested to hear from anyone who is actually running one of these boards in crossfire and what their experience is.
All I can find online is that "it's not ideal" or that "it doesn't cause a "large performance hit".
Other than the slower PCI scaling on the second slot this board is excellent for overclocking and is really fast and stable so I'm not really interested in upgrading the board.

Yeah I've seen a couple as well but the only real tests that I've come across (can't find the article again for some reason) were that the benches were showing only a loss of 5-10 FPS. This wouldn't worry me be on my 60hz monitor as the minimum FPS were higher and anything over 60 is just a bonus. I'm running an AMD fx 6300 CPU @ 4.0 Ghz which never maxes out even on BF4 at the moment...
If it sux then I'll upgrade my motherboard, but I'd prefer not to have to do that.
Be good to hear some real stories from people running the same board though.
