Can I Upgrade from One Thread to Two Threads? Faster FSB?

When upgrading a Pentium 4 that has 1 core and 1 thread, am limited to a single thread, or can I use a 2 thread? Same with a faster FSB?

Here's the situation. I'm helping a friend upgrade her old Sony VAIO PCV-2234, PCV-RS411 Series desktop on a budget. It has a Pentium 4, 2.66 GHz, 1 core, 1 thread CPU.

I see a nice 3.4 GHz, but it's 2 threads, Pentium 4 RK80546PG0961M, which I found for the specs on the P4/2.66 GHz page.

The proposed CPU also has 800 MHz FSB, whereas the original is 533 MHz. Is that a problem?

Thanks
