I am having a big problem with Steam for for a few months now. Steam crashes and freezes in the majority of the games I play.
Usually, Steam freezes when I start any game which leads to the game not working as a result.
Now, one workaround that helps is killing the Steam.exe process via the task manager and launching the game immediately after that, but if I hesitate for a few minutes, it freezes again.
The bigger issue is crashing. It affects the majority of my games, they just crash (the game and Steam) to the desktop 15-20 minutes in, it depends. The thing is, games usually crash during the checkpoint saving (at least Game of Thrones, Arkham City, Darkest Dungeon), so I can't say it is always random. One thing that helps is if I start Steam and the game right after I reboot or turn on my PC, then it's working properly.
I have tried multiple things to rectify the issues like reinstalling Steam, anti-virus checking, moving Steam to another disc, verifying game cache and other suggestions, but nothing helps. Steam support was very unhelpful.
