New build :
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 EXTREME4 ATX LGA1150
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory
Storage: OCZ ARC 100 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video
Case: Fractal Design Define R5 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case

After : installing CPU + RAM + VIdeo Card I try to start the system with the on board power button. I hear something like a little click but nothing powers on.

the PSU is 600 watts and was working on my old system.
When I hit the CMOS reset button the board power on for like a second (fan start spinning vid card lights comes one) but then everything stops and the red led on the board is lit.
Dr. Debug flashes a code then nothing (I can see him going to 15 and then nothing)

What I’ve tried so far

1. Check if 24 pin and 12 volt are well connected
2. Changed the ram in different slots
3. Removed CPU and checked for bent pins (Visual inspection no magnifying glass)
4. Tested the PSU with paper clip (works).

Am I missing Something?
Is the board Dead? Or you guys think it's something else?

* UPDAte PSU is ok see post below also i breadboarded

1. Have tried with no GPU (on board)
2. Don't have make and model of PSU right now but i think it's an ACE Psu 600 watt black (tested it with paper clip worked and was wroking on old system)..

I mean if the PSU is working and the system won't power up it have to be the motherboard or else i would get a dr debug post? or am I wrong?

Ok i don't have that much money to buy something more just to test but...
The PSU was working before on my old computer. So it must be working.
Now 600 watt should be enought on a base system no drive ram and CPU

Both system fan/gpu fan/gpu ligths/cpu fan works for a a second when i use the reset cmos switch on the board.

Now if your telling me this might still be related to PSU I will go buy annother one
I jsut don't want to buy one for nothing.

Thanks you for your input

Ok so i wnet home
removed the board put it on a non conductive surface

removed everything except cpu and 1 ram

pluged new PSU 24 pin and 12 volt ...same problem... so the issue is not with the PSU at this point.

Removed the cpu once again and checked the pin with a camera zoom on a tripod all pins looks ok ...

no error code no life nothing...

So what else can i try ?

Hi,
I'm Davis from ASRock HQ TSD.

According to the information your last posted, you still cannot boot up the system after received the new board.
We provide few ways for you to verify.
1.Please clear CMOS for loading BIOS default setting.
2.Please only install necessary devices(CPU, fan, one memory, power) for narrowing problem.
3.Please check whether the pins bent in CPU socket.
4.Please only install one memory to every DIMM for try.
5.If you have another suitable CPU and memory, please change them for verify.
6.Please check whether the BIOS ROM install correctly.

If the symptom still exist, we have few questions about this symptom, please kindly provide them to us for further checking.
1.What do you mean the AA green light? Debug code?(our debug code should not be green)
2.Is your new board still Z97 Extrmem4?
3.If you change another CPU and memory, it this symptom still exist?
4.After installing the new PSU, what symptom you got with the new board?
5.What is the BIOS version?

Thanks a lot !!
