Hi everyone!
I'm new to the forum and to PC building, so excuse me if I talk nonsense (also, I'm italian, so forgive me for my bad english). Ok, let's get to my problem:
I'm really interested in buying the LG 34UM95. I'm a web designer and I think this monitor would really improve my workflow. Being able of having multiple Photoshop files and/or text editors open at the same time is what has got me completely sold on the monitor.
Since I also need to buy a new PC, I need to know if the configuration I made can run the 34UM95.

  • ■ Intel Core i5-4690k
    ■ MSI Z97 Gaming 5
    ■ Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce
    ■ HyperX Fury Black DDR3 2x4gb CL10
    ■ WD Caviar Blue 1TB
    ■ Samsung 850 EVO 250gb
    ■ Antec NeoECO 620C
    ■ NZXT Source 340 Windowed
    ■ Raijintek Ereboss
As I have already said, I need this PC for web design, but I'm also a gamer, and this is why I ask you guys. I mainly play DOTA 2, but I also would like to play the newer games at high settings. I'm not asking for ultra 120fps, but high 60fps would be great. Do you think I can with this setup? And what about DOTA and working with Photoshop and similiar softwares?

Solution
web designing is not very intensive, and that monitor requires a-lot of pixel pushing power when gaming, and the GTX 970 should work fine with dota at max settings, and high-ultra with the new very intensive games (a.k.a GTA V, battlefield hardline, the Witcher 3 ect.)

For intensive use of Photoshop I would suggest a powerful CPU (Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3) along with 16GB RAM.

For the graphics card you'll be more than fine with an Nvidia GTX 960.

For your sort of workflow, a faster hard drive would be nice. Pay a little more for a WD Black instead of blue and you'll definitely feel the difference, even though you're throwing in an SSD.

he doesn't live in the US, so he has nothing to do with this list.
also, he wont be getting overclocking with that CPU.
ALSO, that GPU you chose is much less powerful than the one he chose. not enough for high settings with 60 FPS @ 3440x1440.

1440p with a 21:9 aspect ratio. one of the prettiest monitors on the market at the moment. also, xeons are less available outside of the big retailers, so the availability is worse. I'm having the same problem with my new PC.

Thanks for the fast replies guys!
I need Photoshop to work at its best, but actually I don't think I'll need the software to handle more than a website mockup, which its not that heavy. I don't know how the CPU handles this kind of programs at higher resolutions, that's why I asked. I'm sorry, I probably messed up formulating my question. So, is the 4690k fine or should I go for the Xeon as suggested by RCFProd?
The GPU is ok as you all said. I'll replace the Caviar Blue with a Caviar Black (thanks ELMT for the siggestion).

if the programs you use, use more than 4 cores better, the Xeon is a beast. if not, the 4690k when overclocked it better, because it performs better in gaming, and if your programs use only 4 cores, fast ones will help a bunch.
