Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 - Which company to buy from?

Its my first computer build. I have everything ready except for the GPU. I have a couple of questions:

1) Why is there DIFFERENT companies selling Nvidia products?

2) Which one is more reliable?

3) Are they all the same from different companies?

1. They are partners with Nvidia. What happens is Nvidia provides the design, brands like MSI or ASUS that you see will receive a reference card and manufacture accordingly. The differences will be answered in question #3.

2. For me, the top cards that are reliable are EVGA, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte

3. They all follow the same design, the only differences are that some of them come with different clock speeds, difference cooling systems, different warranties. I advise you to get the best for their value.
