Is a wireless network without an internet connection possible?

So, I have a home theatre in my basement, and there's no wireless or wired network down there. However, I have some devices that can work together over a wireless network there. Is it possible to create a wireless network which can be used by all devices without actually giving an internet connection?

just manually enter the settings and remove the gateway entry. BUT you'll then not get updates etc.

yes, you can set up a wireless network that is not connected to the Internet.

Yes. Just plug in any router and it will happily work as the local network hub/switch. Make sure the DHCP is enabled. The WAN settings can be ignored if there is no modem to plug into.
