Everything was going smoothly with this build. As soon as I plugged in the AMD Sapphire R9 290x Card the BIOS won't even boot. Just get a black screen. I go into the mobo settings, tell it to use the integrated card and then it will get to Windows startup and then still turns black. Obviously if I take the card out everything runs fine.

Interestingly, when I set it to Integrated it looks like it is booting, but its black. When I hit the power switch it does not immediately shut down as if Windows in loading.

Then I booted into safe mode using the integrated card while the 290x was plugged in, Windows sees it in Device Manager but as a 200 driver and says it still updated. I have tried so many configs I am dying here. Can;t figure this one out. Thanks for the help!

I have had the same problem with a new XFX R9 290X card that won't be detected at all despite everything seemingly okay otherise (light and fans on, both power sources connected, etc.) with a MSI mobo (P67A-GD55). I don't have an answer for you except that the mobo may be the issue, so you could consider flashing the bios to a new version.

Tried it. I even tried old versions of the BIOS. My suspicion is the mobo as well. I need to test the gfx card in another PC to make sure. Thanks anywho.

Hope you have better luck than me, I think my mobo got bricked when I tried flashing (did everything as directed *sigh*). I wish I had another PC to try it out in, that's the only reason I'm not totally certain about the mobo being the issue.
