Ok so , my friend had this ram

Kingston ValueRAM 2 GB (1x2 GB Module) 1333MHz DDR3 DIMM Desktop Memory KVR1333D3N9/2G

He upgraded to this

Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz 8GB

He is trying to put it in , hes doing it properly he sent me a pic ;) , So he asked me why it aint going in , they are both ddr3 and i cant see any problems !

Anyone why this is not working?

Also his ram seems very low profile, on the pics on the internet there seems to be 2 versions , this looks most like his

Did he unclip the clips? And is he putting it in the right way round?

Failing that, is he SURE that the board is DDR3? Is he sure that the RAM he got is DDR3? Because that's almost certainly the root of the problem.

The Kingston RAM is low profile ram, it's made with slim mini-pcs in mind. I think he should verify if he bought unbuffered or fully buffered RAM, as the notching is different. It's unlikely though, as few boards outside the server market use fully buffered.

Could you post these pics, it may help us spot a problem.
