A question about my plan to get some dual channel capable memory.

Hi, I'm currently considering buying some memory to upgrade my computer.

I've identified the memory to be 240-pin DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) memory.

My motherboard has color coded memory slots, two white slots and two blue slots. I know this means that this motherboard is capable of dual channeling.

Now on Newegg, I've found this unbranded memory kit consisting of four sticks of 4GB memory.

However, it's price is high relative to a quad channel kit of the same total memory size. According to PCPartpicker's Price/GB and what I've calculated. I am paying at least 3 dollars more per GB of memory if I chose to order this unbranded kit instead of working with a quad channel kit of four sticks.

Thankfully, I've found dual channel kits consisting of two sticks of 4GB memory. The price of ordering two 2X4GB kits is significantly less than that of ordering the unbranded 4X4GB kit.

However, I want to know if dual channel mode would still occur if I choose to install two of the 2X4GB kits instead of install the one 4X4GB kit.

Solution
It's fine to use PC3-10666 ram.

Link is broken.

BTW, I would like to say that the color codes are actually blue and black, not blue and white.

Hmm, like I said my MB can only perform dual channel also the specs explicitly state that upgrades should be PC3-10600 memory.

Perhaps, what I should've said in the beginning was "Should I take the risk with ordering two 2X4GB kits or spend more money for the assurance that all four sticks will be dual channel ready?"
