Hello,

I am using Windows 8.1, and my computer has had some issues lately. I am not computer savvy, and using Google to look up the symptoms has lead me nowhere. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Here is a rundown of what happened:

1) About a month ago, a windows update broke my sound drivers, and they could not be repaired/installed through device manager or manually doing it. System restore fixed the issue, but the update kept breaking it. (there were numerous updates, so I could not pinpoint which one did it, especially when I ran out of restore points). Using the command prompt: sfc /scannow found unspecified corrupt files. The .txt file is attached.
2) 3/30/15 My computer randomly shut off, and it could not connect to the internet via wifi or an ethernet cable afterwards. I used " netsh winsock reset catalog" in cmd prompt. It fixed the internet issue.
3) 3/31/15 I then deleted my cache in Google chrome and flash player stopped working (not sure which happened first). Videos that require flash player show up white, and right-clicking brings up a "Movie not Loaded" option.
4) 3/31/15 Afterwards, I created a restore point, and my anti-virus (Total Defense) e-mail protection immediately got turned off, and it will not turn back on, despite the "Fix Now" option "successfully fixing the issue". My Malware Bytes protection program was unaffected. Also, the Numbers 3 and 4 happened at roughly the same time, and I do not recall which occurred first.
5) 4/1/2015 League of Legends then kept failing to update. Clean Boot Allowed the update to go through.
6) 4/8/1015 LoL had another update, but Clean Boot Did not work this time. LoL support has not helped either. However, Safe mode let the update go through without a problem.
7) Further windows updates have not done anything to help the issue. I have run full scans with my anti-virus and malwarebytes outside of safe mode, and nothing has changed.
