Horrible stuttering and lag issues on recommended specs (GTA V)

I'm having horrible stuttering and lag issued in GTA V, even on bare minimum graphics, with the recommended specs. CPU usage isn't that bad, either: http://i.imgur.com/jajdzoT.png

Specs:
GTX GeForce 770 (4GB)
AMD Fx-8350
8Gb RAM

Update: Going to DirectX version 10 fixes the stuttering, I have no idea why.

The problem is likely due to your settings. You are using settings which need more VRAM than you have if it is to play with little stuttering. DX10 will usually turn more settings down automatically. Do not use AA, and experiment with different options until the stutters go away.

I still get stuttering on DirectX11 on bare minimum settings across the board. Similar setups have shown that they are more than able to run High settings with no issues:

The problem is your CPU. Even an i3 beat an overclocked 8350. GTA V hates AMD processors. Hopefully this gets fixed.

Isn't your CPU overheating? I have much worse setup: Phenom II X4(3GHz), R9 270X(2G), 4GB of RAM and had very bad stuttering independently on graphics settings. I figured out my CPU was overheating and every second or two it dropped and increased frequency. So i cleaned cooler from dust and Boom the game runs very solid even on somewhat slow setup, most settings on high, even in online.

I have an FX 8350 at stock settings running with Directx 11 and am having zero problems with GTA V.

Check CPU load; if any one core is getting to overworked, that could cause the problems your seeing. GPU is fine; I have the 2GB model of the 770 and it does its job, so the 4GB version should be plenty.

Aside from that, nothing really jumps out.

One other thought, since AMD stock CPU's are performing so poorly, if you have V-sync on, it will make add a lot of stutter.

Not likely. The game is just more demanding on one thread than the rest. Most likely the one making the draw calls. This is standard fare, and typically why AMD CPU's are so far behind Intel. DX12/Mantle aims to fix that.

Yeah I got the same shit too with AMD FX 8350 and it uses around 60% of it..... Idk why it lags.....

The only way to fix a CPU that is bottlenecking you is to OC it, or replace it with something faster. You can't force it to spread the load out on other cores, that is up to the dev's.

Again, I wouldn't say its your CPU.

I have a GTX 970 and FX 8350 4.0 GHZ and I have no stutter while running gta v running it on normal-high settings.

Hi guys, i ve the sam problem. I ve FX 6350 and R9 280X TOXIC, 16 gb of RAM, first mission smooth like butter, then the problems... i ve tried everything...updates, drivers, reduce quality, ..... but nothing.. i ve noticed that in game my pc load during stuttering is 85/95%.. so i think this is the real problem.. but what to do???

I'm having the same problem guys. I'm experiencing a terrible lag while driving or simply going out into the city. Here are my specs:

Core i5 4670
Sapphire R9 290 4GB
8GB RAM

I also experienced a gain of around 30-50 fps with the new AMD Beta driver for GTA V 15.4, but it causes some random crashes while I'm not gaming, my screen will just go black and I have to restart my PC in order to get it back on (when this happens the PC is still running, I just have a sudden black screen and anything that was running will also freeze) So I went back to the old drivers and apparently it solved the black screen problem.

Any help?

PS: Sorry for my english, I'm from Brazil and never took english classes.

i5 4690K 3.5Ghz
R9 290 4gb
8 GB 1333mhz Ram
Corsair RM1000

Upgrading to 16gb 1866 corsair mem kit tomorrow. Doubt itll make a difference. Will update if it does. And then hard drives 1tb and 3 tb and 256 ssd. soooo....
