500w psu is enough. Get a 550watt psu and save money. U can even go with a gtx 980 with a 550watt psu.
I suggest to go with the gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming. Its the best 970 out there.
Get a 600watt psu if u r planning to go sli in future.
Gud luck.

The Gigabyte is the best for OC, it's stock cooler is stronger, though you need a good air flow case to use it correctly, and it has the highest power delivery system and can therefor be OCed higher. It also has the most versatile IO's, with 3 DP, 1HDMI and 2 DVI.

try get most ur parts from 1 or 2 dealers and save on postage like 5 or 6 suppliers gonna cost u more to ship, look for local dealers in ur state

dish cpu water cooling for big fan sink 40 buks save $100, lol im only using stock sink
get 2 x ssd for raid0 to get 1 gbps w/r rates
3 fans and more power gb are pretty decent oc'ers, or go 980 gtx by cutting above out.
u could get a decent asrock sli board for 50 buks less that supports sli and raid0
and a decent 650w psu for 40 buks less
my 2 cents!!!
