Ok, maybe I'll get help here...maybe not lol.
I know Blands 2 is aging, but my wife and friends and I loved it on 360 and got it on sale for PC recently.

My build(important stuff)
i7 4790K overclocked to 4.8 Ghz
EVGA GTX 980 SC w/ ACX 2.0 cooling
-1200 Mhz stock clock
-1400 Mhz boost clock
-7000 Mhz stock memory clock
-4 GB of VRAM

While playing borderlands 2, a relatively older game, I get massive stutters. I know if has to do with the PhysX, as it only happens during a fight with a lot of elemental stuff going on, but I do not understand in the slightest why my system is having any issue.
I run Evolve at max settings,60 FPS using DSR.

I don't get it. watching GPU-Z my gpu load never goes above 50%, and it only uses 750 MB of VRAM.

I'm not talking a drop from 60 to like 45 or 50, I'm talking I get down into the low 20's during the heaviest of battles. Even lowering PhysX from high to medium I get down to the 30's

Any ideas?

Hi,
So you can maintain 60FPS solid with no stutter and only have issues during intense battles?

Any chance it's not properly using "PhysX" and is defaulting to the CPU?

Other:
1) I got stuttering and when changing between VSYNC settings discovered that I had to restart the game for it to take effect. I believe I finally forced Adaptive VSYNC ON in the NVidia Control Panel (so it maintains 60FPS).

2) Try reinstalling the NVidia drivers but choose "Custom" then "Clean" install to see if that sorts out any PhysX issues.

GeForce Experience should not be used for most people. It's based on aiming towards a 40FPS experience (considered "playable" frame rate) and sacrifices frame rate for a "better" visual experience.

Stay at 1920x1080 Medium PhysX for now. I have a GTX680 and with everything max I can't stay at 60FPS at all times but you should be able to.

So either DSR has been forced on (doesn't appear so) or there's some glitch happening that's causing a software or hardware bottleneck related to your GPU.

"Physx was set to CPU (NOT GPU) by default when I installed the nvidia drivers. Go into the nvidia control panel under 3D Settings / Configure Surround , PhsyX and set your video card (GPU) as the processor under Physx Settings. This fixed borderland frame rate issues for me. "

Other:
I personally had other stutter issues related to VSYNC settings. I ended up choosing "unlimited" with VSYNC ON. For some reason choosing any "FPS CAP" setting caused problems even if "60fps capped" for my 60Hz monitor.

I THINK I forced on Adaptive VSYNC so my advice so far is try all of THIS:

1) Reinstall NVidia drivers as I discussed above (clean install)
2) Choose "unlimited" and "VSYNC" (or don't use VSYNC at all but I got really, really bad screen tearing so that wasn't an option for me)
3) Force on Adaptive VSYNC for this game only (can Google for why it's used).

Hope this helps.

Alright, I'll definitely work on trying that here in a bit.
& with the VSYNC off I get the unholiest of screen tearing ever, my FPS goes upwards of 150-200.

You sure about that? Again...running a 4790K @ 4.7 Ghz and rarely use very much of it during Blands 2...
I'll have to boot it up again and see what it does, and try the solution you linked to.

Tweak until it fits your taste. Too low and you won't see any effects and might as well turn it off. Too high and you won't see any benefits. Won't magically give you rock solid 60fps, it will still drop during heavy combat, but the amount it drops will be less. You'll be able to stay above 30fps more often.
