Should I go with a 2 GPU SLI or 1 single better GPU

So I right now I have a GT 640 gpu and MKX is not running smoothly at all.
(Stuttering every 5 frames or so.)
My question is should I get another GT 640, or should I just buy a GTX 750Ti

P.S. The CPU is good enough (for now).

P.S. I have a 1920x1080 60Hz monitor

Get a single better GPU. It is not worth it to SLI two low end gpu.

You can't SLI a GT 640 anyway, so getting a second would not help you at all. Get a GTX 750 Ti.

What is your PSU / CPU anyway?

It is a Core i3 3220, but I will upgrade it after I upgrade the GPU

Don't think you really need to upgrade the CPU, that + a gtx 750 Ti is a pretty balanced system. If you get something like a GTX 970 or R9 290 or higher then upgrading the CPU also would make sense.
