I am planning on upgrading from 2x GTX 660 Ti's to 3x GTX 660 Ti's by adding another Asus GTX 660 Ti OC. I have to upgrade my motherboard to a Maximus V Formula from a Maximus V Gene because of the number of PCIe slots.

I am wondering if I everything will work and be compatible with each other such as will it fit and will the parts recognize each other. I am also wondering if the operating system (Windows 7 64 bit) will recognize the new parts and will boot properly.

Also, if anyone knows the performance gain I will receive from this upgrade, that would be great. Thanks.

Here is my current setup:
Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus V Gene
Graphics Card (GPU): 2x Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti SC/OC (1 EVGA and 1 Asus)
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k @4.2ghz
Memory (RAM): Corsair Vengeance 16gb @1600mhz
Power Supply (PSU): Corsair TX750m
Chassis/Case: Corsair Carabide 400r
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 250GB
Mechanical Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
and 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I meself had 2 x 660 ti in Sli, I sold them booth on ebay and put it towards a single 970gtx and got a spare slot for sli, well the 970 gtx is lill bit quicker then 2 660's and 3.5 gb vram but I haven't maxed the vram or the 970 gtx and getn like 120 fps ave in bf4, theres no laggy image spikes or stutters like sli can have and is smooth as silk, trade ur stuff and get a 980 gtx or titan x/z.
well a galax 980 hof will have 2.5 times perf of 660 ti's , and be a lot smoother bit expensive, most 980's with decent aftermarket coolers will give a bit of a overclock to match a hof for a bit less.

Just my opinion but I think you're better looking at replacing your graphics cards with something a bit more powerful like a GTX960/970. I think this will give you a much bigger boost than a 3rd GTX660 Ti.

Just now your card will be running x8/x8 on the PCIe slots, to go to triple SLi it gets cut to x8/x4/x4 which I don't think will perform any better due to the bandwidth throttling on the 2nd and 3rd cards. With a 3rd card your power consumption goes up as well. As to the motherboard migration, it's quite probable it will work but it's not guaranteed.

Is there a way to get around this. I hear about a program caller HyperSli. Also, if there isn't a way. What Asus motherboard will be compatible and will fit in my case.

I doubt theres a program that would allow tri-SLI on a MB that wont support it. IMHO its not worth going tri-SLI since ive heard you can run into alot of driver issues and graphic distortions (much worse than standard SLI). Like others have said your best bet is to sell both cards and get a better single gpu. The 980/970 would be perfect or waiting till later this year when they come out with the 980ti or R9 300 series comes out.
