No CD or windows 7 cd is not Reading or showing up at all there are no scathes on the disk I can open up the drive in close I'm trying to reformat my pc but the cd drive don't auto play or show up in my computer.

Also I have forgot my windows 7 log in That is why I want to reformat and + i have a virus the drive was working fine a while ago Thanks if you can help

First, you can make a rescue disk from Windows 7 to take care of that situation ( lost passwords ). If it was the password in the BiOS, that is easy to fix. What happens, is you hit the start button. It goes through post and then asks you for a password before it will access the Hdd to boot. My brother for got his. All you need to do is the just remove the CMOS Battery and wait a short, then replace the battery. This will reset the BiOS and remove the password and I would not suggest doing that again.

also My universal serial bus usb controller in device manager is Yellow not sure if that has to do with the cd player not working right. I never new a cd player just to up in quit

Okay, as t the The stuff in the Device Manager with the yellow flags, jut right click on that and in the menu, click uninstall. Once you have done that, just restart your computer, and it shold take care of that issue. As for the Drive, they can die without warning. You can get a decent standard drive on the cheap. They are easy to replace.

Simpliest answer: Made a DBAN CD, put in computer, POWER ON COMPUTER,
BEFORE YOU SEE WINDOWS SELECT THE F12/F11/whatever option to CHOOSE BOOT DEVICE (your probably NOT set to boot from DVD)
Select the DVD Drive. Wipe computer. Now put in Windows DVD and REPEAT, it will now autoload and will install itself.

If this is still too complicated PLEASE take it to a IT Shop for assistance. We only can suggest TECHNICAL STEPS, not step by step walk throughs as there is too many 'things' that can be chosen / do for ALL the types of computers out there.

You can do this with a Windows Installation disk. Make sure it is set to boot from the CD. Once done open the drawer and put the disk in, then restart the computer. It should boot to the Installation disk then, and you can follow the instructions from there. Mind you, you are going to lose everything on the drive, so hope you backed things up that you wanted to keep such as Pictures and stuff.

Okay, I suspect your Keyboard is USB and NOT PS/2. You will need to take care of that flagged USB thing in the device manager. You can do what I posted above then check it to see if it is still flagged.

If your at the install prompt for Windows DVD, and you get no response from the computer otherwise then either the disk is defective, the DVD drive needs to be CanAired out the dust in it, or there is a serious problem with the hardware because the BASE OS / Boot is uneffected by 'drivers' and such as it uses universal language like your BIOS to talk to the keyboard (again no windows 'drivers' perse).

Ultimately i think this is beyond your skillset and getting to really hardware related technical aspects and you may either consider just taking it to a IT Shop for servicing, or if the cost is too much ($149 to just look at it) you may just want to replace the computer outright (general use Laptop or Desktop only $249 at Walmart)

Will I'm going Just buy a new dvd cd drive from walmart in re install W7 Then take back the CD drive in get my money back Lmfao I think I got a dead CD drive since it wont Re install the Serial boost controller I don't feel like wiping my pc clean if I can't install it again

Well, at the moment, it isn't likely you will wipe the Hdd. If I have this right, it wil boot to the Windows Installatione disk, then when you get to the intial screen to Press any key to continue, It doesn't. If this is right, the the CD / DVD drive is working. You just have no use of the keyboard. There is an onscreen keyboard that can be used. It is a pain for sure. If your keyboard is USB and you get no response when you press any key, then you have a USB problem. If you have a PS/2 Port and a PS/2 keyboard, then you could try that.

Windows Installation Disk is Read only anyway, so that wouldn't be an issue.
