Basically I am upgrading to an i5 4690K CPU and GTX 980 GPU. ( PcPartPicker rough build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bwhKgs )

I'm stuck for what motherboard to choose and also what power supply...
My current Power supply is the EVGA 500W White 80PLUS Certified PSU (Mfr#: 100-W1-0500-KR)
Although I can see via pc part picker the wattage is sufficient to power my build I keep reading that It's best to have more legroom with a 4690k and GTX 980.. Should I keep the PSU or upgrade?

So what would you guys recommend? Cheers in advance!

TLDR: What Motherboard and power supply should I get for i5 4690K and GTX 980

As ykki wrote, don't save money on the PSU, it can lead to system instability, bluescreens, restarts, or even "fry" your motherboard if things go wrong. The PSU is the most important component of a PC system but most people don't pay enough attention to it.

"You should not skimp on the quality of the psu especially when you have such a badass rig." - I couldn't say it better.

Search for an article that compares power supplies and check what "ripple" means if you don't know yet. Ripple is what makes capacitors on motherboard leak and explode, especially the ones around the cpu socket.

Sweet thanks man.
Would you happen to also have alternatives for the power supply? Finding a site that stocks it that ships to Ireland for a normal price is proving rather difficult. Something that would be on hardwareversand . de website would be a hugeeee help
