For the last 4 or 5 months now my PC has been crashing seemingly randomly, without any BSOD or any error in the event log.

The crash simply consists of the monitor locking up, with whatever i was doing at the time being permanently frozen on the screen, the mouse and keyboard refuse to respond also. At first i thought it was my Windows 7 install so i re-installed it, along with updating all my Motherboard Drivers, GPU and CPU Drivers.

I have also ran multiple Malware Scans and they haven't turned up anything, as well as Windows Memory Diagnostics which hasn't found anything wrong. I've defragged both of my Hard Drives also.

The crashes mostly occur whilst playing games, from anything as simple as League of Legends to ArmA 3. It can also happen whilst just browsing or watching films. At the time of the crash nothing abnormal happens, Temps are all normal, no abnormal usages or errors occur, the only thing left in the event log is a Kernel Error 41 which just states that the computer rebooted without shutting down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as i've just about had it, im wary of playing any games now as it could just crash on me at any time. Specs are as follows.

Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V LX
CPU: i5 3570
GPU: AMD HD7870 2GB
RAM: G.Skill Ares 2x4gb Dual Channel DDR3
Power Supply: 550w XFX Pro Series Core Edition
Hard Drives. 1x Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue
1x Western Digital 500gb Caviar Blue
OS: Windows 7

Edit: Ironically it crashed even whilst writing this post.

Any other information can be provided. I just need this to stop.

Since random crashes can be hard to track down, start by disconnecting all external devices but the keyboard and mouse to eliminate them as a possibility. Run error-checking with scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors checked on both HDDs. The processor can be thoroughly tested for stability with Prime95 found here http://download.cnet.com/Prime95-64-bit/3000-2053_4-75869492.html If the processor is giving you problems the system will freeze during the test.
