Hi

I got a computer with the following specs

AMD FX-8350
ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX - Rev. 2.0
Corsair RM850
Fractal Design Define R4
Noctua NH-D15
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
2x 750GB 7200RPM HDDS
Nvidia GTX 750Ti

I know my GPU is not powerful, but i could play all my games..

Now when GTA V is out on the PC i'm looking after a new GPU that could run it on higher settings then my current, Ultra is not a must because then it's going to be more then my budget... :(

I really like Nvidia, but they are also more expensive :/

I looked at the GTX 960 4GB and 970 but my budget is more around the price for 960.

I'm from Denmark, just to let you guys know :p

But what would you suggest in AMD or Nvidia?

Solution
Around the prices of gtx 960.

Get in this order if you can find them cheap enough; r9 290, r9 280x, r9 280.
First two are much better perfromance wise, and can run this game on ultra settings,

r9 280 tends to be cheaper than a gtx 960, performs on par or better (higher resolutions/post processing/etc) than the Nvidia card, sports an extra gig of vram, which would easily allow it to perform better in the long run.

R9 280/Gtx 960 both can run this game ultra settings/high settings

It looks like i can get an R9 290 for around the same price as an 4GB 960 .. :)

And an R9 280X for around 200dkk under the 4GB 960 :)

But how are the drivers?

most driver problems are over hyped, you will run into driver issues on both sides, and you can always just roll back.

None the less, even with driver issues these cards will still blow away gtx 960 in games.

Id recommend getting r9 290.
But be sure you get a card from third party that has aftermarket cooler on it, some companies that throw coolers on are msi/asus/gigabyte/sapphire/powercolor/ etc.

Okay great :)

So i have found these

It's the R9 290
ASUS R9290-DC2OC-4GD5 costs 2376kr
MSI R9 290 GAMING 4G costs 2400kr

These are R9 280X
MSI R9 280X GAMING 3G costs 1978kr
Gigabyte GV-R928XOC-3GD costs 2035kr

While the 960 4GB i'm looking at are these

Gigabyte GV-N960G1 GAMING-4GD costs 2347kr
ASUS STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-4GD5 costs 2158kr

if all you are wanting to do is gta v, then 280x is plenty, and also the cheaper option.

r9 290 Id choose if you are looking to bf4, Crysis games, etc.
Will also allow more headroom for potential mods for gta v.

280x can run most any game our there on its default max settings 60 FPS 1080p
r9 290 can run the same, but added settings like more filteing, aa, etc. should have more FPS too. and will perform decently 1440p
