can i run gta 5 with exceeding vram limit like 2447mb, 400mb more than 2gb on my GPU GTX 770 2gb oc and what happens if i run for a long time with this settings. i want to know whether it causes hardware damage to my GPU.
i am seeing many people exceeding vram limit beyond 2gb in YouTube with GTX 770 2gb GPU and they are able to run the game on high-ultra settings msaa-off smoothly with min 40 to max70 fps.

You won't damage your card by exceeding the limit, however you won't have the smoothest experience. Exceeding the VRAM can cause stutters and hitching leading to not so optimal experience. I tried settings that totalled out at 2147MB and the game was still quite playable, but there was defiinitely some stutters and a number of frametime spikes in crowded areas, staying below the limit smooths things out more. Whether you want the most smoothness or more eye candy is up to you.
