This will be my first time building a computer, let a lone one for gaming, so I was wondering if this computer is up to snuff for today's standard of gaming, or if not what I should change about it. I would prefer to spend less then $1,200, but will go a tad over if it means way better preformance. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!!

Solution
It looks solid. An SSD won't improve gaming performance except for load times. I recommend going down to 8GB RAM, getting a better CPU cooler, getting a 4690K, and overclocking it.

swap the 4690 for the 4590...in real world your not going to notice the slightly slower cpu. if you have a local micro center the cpu is cheaper and they have 40.00 combo deals on mb. 550w power supply is a min for a gaming pc your better off spending a little more for the 750. when gaming your going to stress the cpu/gpu and power supply. if the power supply is maxed out or near max output it can over heat...ripple out or not hold close to atx standard. over sizing the power supply a little will keep your gaming pc from having power issue. one thing to watch out is is amd has there newer r300 line that droping in a few weeks. if you can the last part i would order is the gpu.

Ah okay, cool thanks! As for Aspiring techie, you said earlier to drop down to 8 GBs of ram and get a better cooler. Which one would you recommend?

Edit: Just noticed compatibility issue with the ram being to high wattage, so went back and edited to be less. Link should be updated with new ram, otherwise same thing.
