As the title suggests the frame rate on GTA V is terrible when I try to run it on high/very high and even when I've lowered everything significantly it's still shocking! My specs are

GPU - MSI Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 4GB

Hard Drives - 1TB Western Digital Black x2

CPU Fan - Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO

SSD - Samsung 840 Series (256GB)

PSU - Corsair AX 760 760W ATX

CPU - Intel Core i5 - 4670K Haswell Socket 1150

RAM - Corsair CML8GX3M2A1866C9R Vengeance Low Profile (2x4GB)

Motherboard - MSI Z87 - GD65 ATX

Anyone got any ideas what it could be? My rig seems like it should be able to run this?

I would recommend checking the drivers and using the recomended settings through Geforce experience. If you've allready done that, try removing the drivers and reinstall them clean, that has helped some others on the forum.

The video card should be more than capable of running the game, I get between 40-90 fps with a gtx 770 on medium settings.

How are your frame rates after you do a reboot? My experience, first reboot of the day works amazing and look even better...leave computer on overnight and come back to play the next day...CRAP...reboot PC...amazing again. Have you tried this?
