Just did a cpu upgrade but no added performance.

I have a r9 290 and an fx 8320, i can barely get 50 fps on bf4 (ultra). I had an fx 6300 and It used to run the game with the same fps as the fx 8320... how come? My gpu drivers are all updated btw. 8 Gb of ram .

Yet you would spend $130 to get no performance improvement in games. There are plenty of comparisons and reviews done already that show a minimal or nonexistent difference when playing games with a FX-6300 or a FX-8320.

Its quite simple really. The difference between the single thread performance of the FX-6300 and the FX-8320 is minimal. In fact they are almost exactly...

I see people with the same exact build but they have .5 ghz higher than I do and they get around 60 more fps than I do.

Still, im not going to spend $300+ dollars to get above 80 fps. I'm just really confused on how I cant even run bf4 ultra with a solid 60 fps... My old fx 6300 got 75 on high (bf4), and my fx 8320 sometimes gets the same, but most of the time its lower. I know lots about of computers, but this stumped me :/

The only real way you will see an improvement is by overclocking the 8320, or when playing a game that is CPU intensive/able to use the extra cores.
