For only gaming= Intel is a better choice.
280X >> 960.
CX is bad. Replaced that with a nice seasonic made xfx psu.
Good mobo.
Nice RAM.
Monitor is also very good.

Hope this helped!

Stretch your budget a little bit more and you have an i5 + 280x. Do recommend this so you can at least get high/max settings for Evolve. any questions about the parts id be happy to answer :)

If you can stretch your budget a bit, this would be a great build with reliable parts and high performance

I changed the monitor to a 22" ips monitor from AOC.
R9 280x has great performance, combined with an i5 4460, should be able to run most games on high/ultra depending on the game. I chose a seasonic 600w PSU, high quality and reliable, can't argue with that choice. You will probably need around 550-600w anyway because of the r9 280x, which can draw up to 350-400w under full load. The other choices were just based on what was best in each category and budget, so I would recommend these parts if you were looking to play games on high/ultra settings smoothly and it will last you quite a few years before you might want to upgrade :)
