4gb 1066mhz ddr2 vs 6gb 800mhz ddr2

i have a c2q q9300 processor on asus p5q motherboard. I have to upgrade the ram(currently i have 2x2gb ddr2 1066 corsair dominator ram). the processor is OCed to 3 Ghz. if i get 3x2gb ddr2 kingston 800mhz ram will i be able to get the same overclock with that?

The overclock will not be 100% identical, no. With a changing of components, you need to change and adapt the overclock. It should not be vastly different though.

Dont mock me for my old machine.. i have seen people with older machines play new titles with decent framerates

on the topic... but i sure will be able to get 3ghz?

Also, I do not mock your machine, it is more a comment about the post. Looked funny and like something people asked almost 10 years ago.

Not so difference. In RAM main thing is memory. On 6gb you can load more apps on RAM and can run those tasks and games that needs minimum of 4gb ram which is important now-a-day. But transfer rate will be little reduced. Better is 6gb 800Mhz.
