the hdd bays are in the back, and I mean the height i.e. does the card fit with the sidepanel on?

Hi there, I just bought the AIR 240 to replace my old cheap mid-tower case and plan to swap my build over to the 240. Having a largish MSI R9 280 twin froza GPU I too am concerned that my card may be too TALL. My card is 127mm or 5 " tall, which I am FAIRLY sure will be a squeeze getting the PCI-e connectors in and getting the side panel on! What gives me hope is that I saw a discussion (on Corsair Forums I think) with that 143mm high XFX card that actually fitted the AIR 240...but only Just! Also I saw a pretty professional review on youtube where the reviewer fitted a few different GPUs to this case and actually addressed the HEIGHT issue. His opinion was that any card over 4 inches tall is going to be a tight squeeze! If this post is still open I will report back when I receive the case and transplant everything across (hopefully including my R9 280)!

I was looking at the 280 but its a custom pcb so the pcie connectors should be very close, thats why I´m looking at the 290 since the pcb looks to be more similar to the stock one

Defo gonna be a close one! I don't ever recall GPU height ever being an issue. A lot of folk are misunderstood in thinking that there are "standard" GPU heights for each case form factor..Nah! Height can vary considerably. If my MSI R9 280( which is a portly card) don't fit I will sell it on and get a card that fits the air 240. My pal has had the same case for a while and it does command some admiration. :)

Hi there, pleased to report that the MSI R9 280 3G Twin Frozr does indeed fit the AIR 240 BUT, it was a really tight squeeze getting the card it. I tried for 15 minutes approaching the PCI-e slot from all sorts of angles but each time the PCB kept jamming on the case on the back right corner( where the latch is located). So how did I get the card in? I simply removed the mobo, installed the card then re-installed the mobo and card at the same time. The PCI-e 6pin and 8 pin kinda touch the glass on the side panel but it was still quite easy to get the side panel on and this doesn't bother me. If there are any measurements you would like then just ask.

Hey. I hope this helped you out man. I think if Corsair would have given us another 5 mm in the front chamber of this case then building with it would have been so much better. The case itself is lovely to build in btw!

That partpicker site is clearly wrong sometimes. My current Asus r9 280 and the Corsair Air 240 say "compatible" on their site but it's dead wrong. The side panel will not shut. The Asus r9 280 is too wide. WTF?

I feel your pain man. This Air 240 case should have really been made about 10-20mm deeper to accommodate all mainstream GPU's. My MSI R9280 just about allows me to get the side of the case back on and was a nightmare to install. If you want to stick with this type of case then I guess a different GPU is in order. :-(
