Hey all its just like my heading says. I would like some help in getting picking an AMD cpu and motherboard that can match or surpass an i5 4670k cpu running on a Z97 mobo. Before you ask the reason i am looking into AMD is because intel is very expensive in my country even second hand ones.

well, that is going to be very hard.
if i'm not mistaken, the best thing amd has in store /apart from overpriced 220w hungry garbage/ is fx-8350, which was set to complete against the 2nd gen i5-2500k. some battle have been won /multithreaded - virtualisation, encoding/, some have been lost/singlethread - everything else/.
now, i do believe, the amd has nothing to compete directly with the 4th gen i5, at least not for general purpose pc.

but you can always go with 6300, 8320 and 8350, if you wish to :D

mobo - personally i'm a fan of gigabyte ud3 series - just pick the right slot according your cpu and size according your case :D

as for the processor -
if you can get that intel for cheap, it would be your best bet. granted it's not the newest, but it can still run for a few years (and it's really awesome, just do yourself a favour and get a aftermarket cooler as the boxed is louder than a angry mother in law :D).
if you decide to ditch intel and go for amd - go for the 8320 (or 8350 if it's not much $$$ apart).

Can you find cheaper AMD CPU and BOARD at other stores?

At this prices dont even think twice, go intel.

I'm going intel but i want something overclockable. Thats why I am thinking of the 2600k. I can get it really cheap and in very good condition second hand with an aftermarket cooler. I don't know what mobo for that though.
