Buying used PC components

Obviously it's better to buy new when it comes to building a pc but what are the components that have a lower risk from being used when trying to build a pc and save a few extra dollars?

A very good question that I had to think about for a bit.
I do sell and buy used parts on ebay from time to time.
Try to deal with individuals selling their used parts for a good deal.
Retailers must make a profit and their prices will be higher.

Deal only with sellers with good feedback.
Most sellers will have a no hassle return for items.
Do not buy "as is".
If you have the ability to test the parts out within the usual 10-14 day period, you are reasonably safe.
Paypal tends to protect buyers more than sellers.

If an item is heavy, like a case you need to be quite certain it is what you want. Shipping charges can eat up savings. Usually, you will be responsible for return shipping.

One tip is to check completed auctions on used parts. You will see what others actually paid.

If you are looking for a cpu to be overclocked, you may be disappointed.
Often sellers have bought dozens of the cpu to find a golden chip and they sell of lesser chips.

All in all, I like used if you get a good deal on the parts.
