I have an Asrock motherboard and an intel i5 4690k processor. I have the stock cooler that came with it. My question is, should I put the fan control on Performance mode or standard mode? I currently have it on performance mode. What is the difference between silent, standard, and performance and should I leave it on performance for lower CPU temps and best cooling?

Solution
Silent = slow fan speeds so it's quiet but risks a hotter processor
Standard = a good profile which will spin up the fan so it's a bit noisier but cools the processor better
Performance = Noisiest of the profiles but provides best cooling (tbh, if you're using this you should really look at a 3rd party cooler)
