Hello,

I want to upgrade my 760GTX to a new 970GTX from the most OC'ed series. I am hesitating over following GPU's : MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G, Asus STRIX GTX970 DC2OC-4GD5, EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0 or Inno3D GeForce GTX 970 iChill X3 Air Boss. Gigabyte is out of choice due to its size - just too long for my chassis.
Price does not matter since its nearly the same for all of above in my country.
I would be very grateful for any responds.

My PC spec :
- AMD FX-8320
- Mobo : Asus M5A99FX Pro 2.0
- PS : OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W

Thanks for reply. But what about differences between Gigabyte and MSI? Is it worth to change chassis only to buy Gigabyte G1? Or the is difference between MSI and Gigabyte unnoticeable (or too small to make Gigabyte definitely better GPU)?

It's impossible to say this is better than not without a decent tear down article like the bit-tech article above. Most peeps buy on perceptions or brand loyalty. A good tear down article can tell you why one card should perform better and the test results confirm whether or not it does. Unfortunatly, the Giga wasn't in the roundup.... but going here:

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/10/02/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-980-g1-gaming-review/1

We see that Gigabyte used 6+2 phase power system, (reference is 4+1), Japanese solid caps, ferrite core metal chokes and low resistance MOSFETs. It's reasonable to expect they went the same route on the 970 which is supported by the card's performance where it wins a few more battles than it loses to MSI..... but it's always close.

OTOH, the MSI has the fan cut off feature that they introduced in 2008. Asus added it this year on the 970 but those are the only ones I'm aware of. MSI upped the game a bit this year as both fans are controlled independently.

Def check out the EVGA GTX970 SSC+ and the EVGA GTX970 FTW+. I recently got the EVGA GTX970 SSC+ and I absolutely love it. Heres the link to the one I got.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487088

These 2 are the updated versions and are much better than the first revision. The card stays cool and I get absolutely NO coil wine. Plus dual bios gives you the option of having the fans run all the time or only when the card reaches a certain temp. EVGA has the best customer service and Im pretty sure the FTW+ offers the highest factory overclock you can get out of all the different companies 970's. Plus there is still a considerable amt of room to overclock even with the high factory overclock.
The SSC+ and the FTW+ are very similar and the FTW+ is basically just +25mhz higher than the SSC+. I went with the SSC+ bc I didnt think the extra $50 at the time for the FTW+ was really worth it. I got the Witcher 3 gamefor free which they are still offering the promo and currently you can get a free backplate with either card too so its def a good time to buy one.
