Hi there,

recently I got my Galax GTX 970 IBE which really hyped me. Now I'm looking for a motherboard suiting this card. I will also be getting an i7, but I'm not certain which one it will be. It's certain that it's gonna be the 4690K or 4790K though. Meaning the socket's gonna be Intel's LGA 1150.

At the moment I'm thinking of either getting the:
ASUS Maximus VII Ranger

ASUS Z97 Pro Gamer
or the
MSI Z97 Gaming 5.

Those 3 mobos are giving me a hard time deciding though..

The ROG will be a good choice because I'm planning on overclocking my CPU as well as my DRAM. Features regarding the OC topic are most likely the best I've heard of so far. Also all the positive propaganda as well as the product tests I've read have had a big impact on me. This is pretty much the board I'm tending to buy without having any second thoughts after I hit the purchase-button.

The ASUS Pro Gamer is a board that's basically the same as the ROG series boards, just without the ROG branding. That's the conclusion I've made after my research, please correct me if I'm wrong!! I wasn't able to get all the info about its features though. If you could help me with that I'd really appreciate it.

About the MSI Gaming G7.... It's got many of the feature the ASUS boards I listed have. They have its own descriptions, but I think they are basically the same. This board is missing the ROG overclocking features though. But MSI's features regarding OCing and all the other areas, especially the gaming enhancements sound very inviting.

Are there more things I gotta be aware of? Can you give me pros and cons about the motherboards I've listed? Am I maybe paying too much attention to all the unimportant stuff and missing the key-features I've gotta put more weight on when deciding?

I'll be purchasing the mobo from Germany, prices can be seen on Alternate's page or on geizhals.de, where I'll be looking up the best price I can get when I know which board it's gonna be.

You're welcome to tell me about your experiences with these boards, too, of course!

Thank you in advance!

Thanks for your opinion. I think I'll stick with ASUS, too, since those boards never let me hanging.

So it's either the Pro Gamer or the ROG Ranger... Which one would be the better choice though?
