Ok so basically, around 6 months ago I built a new pc, and I really screwed up on my processor. Basically I wanted a super fast gaming pc, that could run all games out there, but I have trouble running a lot of games due to one reason, I went full out on my graphics card and got a shitty CPU.

Now what I am wondering is, are there any really good processor's that I can get that is compatible with my GPU?

I currently have a AMD Radeon R9 200 Series Graphics card and a AMD Athlon(tm) X4 760K Quad Core Processor. My mother board is a A88XM-PLUS Asus, atleast that's what it says on the box.

Current Stats:

GPU: http://prntscr.com/6v5zki

CPU: http://prntscr.com/6v5zqj

I was looking at the intel i7 - 4770 /4790k Quad-Core but it's not compatible with mine. My question is, will I be able to get a processor with the same, or maybe better performance without needing to switch out my MotherBoard / Graphics Card? If so, what could I get? Cause I have been looking and I am stumped. If I really need to change my MotherBoard, that's fine, as long as I don't need to replace all three, but if there is a Processor that is compatible with both, that would be amazing.

Instead of buying a new processor altogether your should probably just buy a decent $40 cooler and learn to overclock, seeing as the motherboard you choose is excellent for overclocking.
This should give you the processing power you need for today's games

Some coolers I particularly like:

Cryorig H7

Thermalright TRUE Spirit 120m

Nzxt Respire T40

(will probably not be able to reply for a good 2 days due to entering an area without Internet, though)

I have overclocked my CPU, it was 3.8 GHZ now it is at 4.3 or 4.6 I can't remember which one. I need a new processor. I would like to play GTA, and BattleField without lag, I am currently dropping down to 40 fps.

Then here are some options for that'll give you smooth framerates

FX-6300 W/
970M PRO3

FX 8350
MSI Gaming 970/990FXA UD3

I5 4460
H97M PRO4/B85 G43

Another option is the 860K that'll for your current motherboard just fine, however, it may not be enough to give you the framerates toy want so you might want to search for some benchmarks regarding the processor.

I'll have to log off in 5 minutes, hope somebody tales the baton from here as I am not sure if I am going to be able to access a working connection anytime soon.

Thanks for your help, but I really am just looking for a better processor and that's why I am here. I am not sure if there is a very good one that is compatible with my build.
