Late last year I built a new PC using these parts: Link

A month or so later I began to experience this problem: Link

The problem was not easy to reproduce offline (as required for manufacturer testing) until the recent release of GTA V, which has caused the issue to return with a vengeance.

After contacting the manufacturer of my GPU, I was instructed to:

    1) try to change the VGA 3D setting: Go nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Global setting and program settings -> select the powermanagement mode to prefer maximum performance.

    2) move to another slot for verification

    3) move to another Platform for verification

    4) The MB BIOS update to the latest version.

Options 1 and 2 had no effect.

Option 3 is not something I can test, as I have no suitable system to move the GPU into. However, I did try using a different GPU for an extended period and the issue never occurred.

That leaves me with Option 4 (hence the post in the motherboard section): How can (and should I) update my BIOS? Current specs can be found here: Link

Browsing Gigabyte's support page refers me to a number of USB/Chipset/Audio drivers, but nothing referring to the BIOS itself.

I did have a brief read of the sticky threads, although I'll be honest and say that a lot of it went over my head. I'm not looking to do anything fancy here, I just want to be able to play games like GTA V without my entire system suffering from an aneurism.

Any help would be appreciated, either on the topic of the thread or on my primary issue.

Thanks in advance.
Vin

Thanks for the heads up, totally missed that drop-down box.

Given the inherently risky nature of BIOS flashing, I'd like to be dead certain I've got the right one before I change anything.

Here's the page I believe is relevant to my mobo (v1.0): Link

My current installation states 'F3'. I am assuming the 'F#' is some form of version number, and that I want to use the F7 version (highest non-beta).

Thanks again for your help.

The current version I have states "F3"
